EdgeView
‘Dynamic Island’ on Snowboard
This project is currently under early concept and development, but is aimed to become an actual product.
Update July 12, 2nd iteration:
EdgeView is a front-mounted snowboarding display that shows real-time data like time, speed, elevation, and direction.
EdgeView features two UI modes: numeric for utility and visualization for social and emotional feedback.
The display automatically switches modes based on riding status, allowing snowboarders to stay focused on the ride. The auto-switching will be elaborated in the future.
Utility UI
Example – Time and Compass
In dense tree runs, EdgeView’s numeric UI delivers essential navigation data without distraction. Time tracking, facing direction, and compass pointer provide clear orientation when visibility is limited. The clean interface allows quick glances for directional confirmation while maintaining focus on threading through tight spaces at reduced speeds.

Visualization
Example – Slope
On open slopes, EdgeView’s visualization mode displays slope degree through dynamic animations without numbers. This mode prioritizes style over data, creating engaging visuals that look impressive to others while avoiding cognitive distraction during high-speed descents. The abstract display enhances the emotional riding experience while showcasing a tech-forward setup.

Update Jun 20, Initial Concept:

More contents are coming upon the design progression.
It’s a combination of the two previous design: Snow Watch and Illuboard.
